Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using CodexTutor (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. CodexTutor is operated by K12 Teacher Tools (“we,” “our,” or “us”).
Description of service
CodexTutor is a vocabulary and grammar learning app for classical and historical languages including Arabic, Latin, Ancient Greek, Classical Chinese, Hebrew, Persian, and Sanskrit. The App provides flashcards, translation drills, grammar exercises, and guided reading through public-domain sacred and literary texts. Features and available languages may change over time.
User accounts
You must create an account to use CodexTutor. You may sign in using Apple or Google. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the App.
Subscriptions and payments
CodexTutor offers a free tier (one language) and a paid Pro subscription for access to all languages. If you choose to subscribe:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
- You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions at any time.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
All payments are processed by Apple. We do not directly collect or store payment information. Refund requests should be directed to Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Content and intellectual property
All source texts used in CodexTutor (e.g., the Quran, Aeneid, Analects, Bhagavad Gita) are in the public domain or used under open-access licenses.
Dictionary definitions, translations, morphological analyses, and grammar notes are generated with the assistance of AI and may contain errors. CodexTutor is a study aid, not a scholarly reference. We make no guarantees about the accuracy of AI-generated content.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
Disclaimer of warranties
CodexTutor is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, K12 Teacher Tools shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately, and we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of CodexTutor after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
