Terms of Service
Last updated: August 19, 2026
Agreement
These terms apply when you use the CodexTutor app or order from the bookstore at store.codextutor.com. Both are operated by K12TeacherTools (“we,” “our,” “us”). Using either means you accept them.
The app
CodexTutor is a reading app for classical and literary languages, on iPhone, iPad and Mac. It presents a canonical text a passage at a time, with a translation you reveal and a gloss for any word you tap. It is free in full, and the library and its features grow and change as texts are added. It is intended for readers 13 and older.
Your progress
What you have read is kept on your device and travels between your own devices through your iCloud account, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can erase all of it at any time with Start over in Settings, or by deleting the app.
Texts and study material
The source texts are in the public domain and are presented as written.
Translations, glosses, grammatical analysis and notes are produced with AI assistance and may contain errors. CodexTutor is a study aid rather than a scholarly reference. Qur’an recitation is a recording of a human reciter; audio for other texts is synthesized.
The app, its design, and the study material we produce belong to K12TeacherTools. You may use them for your own study.
Acceptable use
You agree to:
- Use the app and the bookstore for lawful purposes.
- Leave the app’s code and its infrastructure as you found them, without reverse-engineering, disassembly, or interference.
- Keep redistribution of our study material to personal use.
Bookstore orders
Books are printed to order by our print partner. The price shown at checkout is the price of that order, and shipping dates are their estimates. An order goes into production soon after payment, so contact us promptly if you need to change or cancel one, or if something arrives damaged or misprinted.
Availability and warranties
The app and the bookstore are provided “as is” and “as available,” to the fullest extent permitted by law, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We may change, suspend or discontinue either at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, K12TeacherTools is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the app or the bookstore, under any legal theory. Our total liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it.
Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes belong to the state and federal courts located in Michigan.
